I love Cats, obviously.

Actually, my favorite animal is the raccoon! But cats are a close second.

But I love all comical pictures of animals, especially for this blog. My maternal Grandfather used to give voices to all his animals, and names. Even if they were not house pets.
The man was positively hilarious when he talked to his dog "snoopy". Mind you over the years there were several snoopys. Each animal he named and gave a voice to had a unique personality via the vocal inflections he rendered.
My Grammpie had a camp on Moosehead lake that he was very fond of. It took him years to build, and once it was finished, the entire family would pick a week to attend camp. There were always red squirrels prancing everywhere near the camp. Of course my Grampie chose two to name Fred and Frieda. Lord knows if the same two Fred and Friedas appeared every year. But due to my grandfathers voices and stories, it became part of the visit to camp. We would all have to report on the welfare of the red squirrel pair when returning from our week.
I believe this is where I learned to appreciate animals as furry people. I have long given my animals, pets or not, voices and personality through names. I chat to them in strange voices, much like you would coo to a baby. For me there is value in the interaction you have with animals. It opens your mind to bigger prospects then just your daily human stress.
My own house cats, once they enter the premises become members of the family. Unique and full of personality, we treasure our animals!
These are actually pics of my kitties. Currently we are working hard to getting them to stay still for the camera. Right now being just a little over a year old they are not ready for the fun stuff.

So it is Caterday, and I thought perhaps a small explanation of why I post so many animal pics was in order. See ya all at Boogie Crawl this evening! Mine will be a cat edition!
