This week is the kids last week of school. I always have mixed emotions about this. They will be busy this summer however. Lani has two jobs and a clarinet solo to learn before band camp in july. Colleen is heading to Ocean City this saturday for a weeks stay with her best friend, then she intends to stay a week longer in Maine to visit with her Ooma after we all head there over the july fourth weekend. Gabe of course will be busy swimming, his ultimately fave past time. Gabe also seems to learn over the summer despite having a few months off from school. It will be fun to see what he comes up with!
My Katelyn turns 22 on this weds. Her very sweet hubbie took her to New York City this past weekend to enjoy a performance of Phantom of the Opera. I guess they really enjoyed themselves. Personally, I would love to see a broadway show.
Fathers Day is on Sunday, I am thinking Poker in Atlantic CIty sounds like a great gift.

Locally, I heard this morning on the news that they caught a bear in northern Pennsylvania in someones yard. This is a well known bear to authorities, also well traveled it seems. She has crossed three different counties and this is her third time being tranquilized and moved to a wooded area. The report amused me until I heard that if the bear continues to wander back into built up areas in search of food, that they are considering putting her to sleep. Yup, killing her essentially. I have my knickers in a twist on this one lovies. The female bear is healthy looking, probably from all the garbage she has eaten in her travels, and non aggressive. Any idiot would have to consider that there is little wooded area left here in Pa and that this female just emerged from a long winter's nap. She is darn hungry! They did move her to a wooded preserve this time which is probably what they should have done in the first place. She may even be pregnant and needing extra nourishment. It is just sad that we as humans have encroached on her space, not the other way around and now she may get killed because she spends too much time in backyard trees and garbage cans. I will keep you posted on this one!
