Lady Blu's New Vibe

 Saturday AM

Yuppers its offical, Colleen is feeling better. She is now up and moving with the aide of a walker. We even took a little grocery trip to Walmart with her yesterday and she did great. The girl has guts, I gotta tell ya. After deciding that the pain meds were making her recovery impossible due to nausea we just put her on tylenol. It worked! She is bright looking now and ambulating everywhere in the house. Colleen starts PT on Tuesday, and will at least be able to remove one knee immobilizer which will help further mobility. It has been a long week lovies. Stress, and more stress have ruled, but James and I managed to share the days off we needed to take to help Colleen recover. Both of our jobs have been supportive which always makes things easier. Now add a regular school schedule for Gabe and Alannah, softball, and job for Alannah, homework gathering for Colleen, dinner, laundrey, dishes and very few hours of sleep, and you can understand why we have elevated stress here in the cornfield! Colleen had a rough surgery on Monday. I have to tell you that I have no idea sometimes where Jim and I's strength and fortitude comes from. I think it was overly aggressive of our Surgeon to expect Miss Beanie to head home Monday after her surgery. We were initially told the surgery would last two hours, but alas it took much longer. She went into surgery at 11:30 am and emerged at 4 pm Monday afternoon. Because she was under anesthesia much longer then anticipated, they at least decided to keep her over night. In recovery she had nausea and breathing difficulties which alarmed us as her parents. We arrived home finally yesterday afternoon, again not having anticipated the amount of pain Colleen would have. I think we are over our heads medically speaking, as colleen is not only in pain, but completely immobilized from the waist down. So I called into work for today, and James will take the rest of the week off. We are lifting, tugging, and trying to keep our child free of pain. I simply keep telling myself that this will get easier the more days we are away from surgery. Right now, she is sleeping as I write this. She finally looks peaceful but I anticipate things will get busy again when she wakes up. So I will try to get around to say hello later lovies, but am thinking a nap for energy would help me at this point!

Loverboy is a Canadian rock group formed in 1980 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Throughout the 1980s, the band accumulated numerous hit songs in Canada and the United States, making four multi-platinum albums, and selling millions of records. After being rejected by many U.S. record labels, they signed with Columbia Records Canada and began recording their first album March 20, 1980 with Mike Reno on lead vocals, Paul Dean as the guitarist, Scott Smith as the bassist, Doug Johnson on keyboards, and Matt Frenette on drums. The band's hit singles, particularly "Lovin' Every Minute of It" have become arena rock staples, and are still heard on many classic rock radio stations across the United States and Canada. They are currently based in Vancouver, British Columbia but Reno and Dean originally met in Calgary, Alberta.
